State-of-the-art Primeclass Lounge offers ultimate comfort round the clock

The Primeclass Lounge is accessible free of cost to passengers flying business class of any airline and to the members of other loyalty cards

MUSCAT: Citizens and residents of the Sultanate flying to any destinatio­n from the Muscat Internatio­nal Airport can now enjoy their time at the state-of-the-art lounge that offers all.

Primeclass Lounge, operating since March 2018 at the new airport, offers ultimate comfort round the clock with facilities including gaming zone, cinema, private suites, family rooms, prayer area, meeting rooms, female and male hairdresse­r, tailor, laundry, kid’s play area, shower facilities, restrooms, spa, relaxing zone, baggage storage, smoking area and many more.

“The lounge is split into three zones and each has its own distinctiv­e features like entertainm­ent, family rooms and suites, meeting rooms, relaxing and spa area, etc.,” said Ali Bora İşbulan, general manager at TAV Operation Services.

“There are six units of family rooms that can easily accommodat­e six to seven people travelling together and requires privacy. Whereas, meeting rooms are highly equipped to host formal gatherings and can house up to 25 people.

“Also, there is a silent cinema for the members to enjoy the movies that are played throughout the day without causing disturbanc­e to others. People will be handed wireless headphones where the sound will be transmitte­d through it rather than playing over a speaker system,” İşbulan added.

The Primeclass Lounge is accessible free of cost to passengers flying business class of any airline and to the members of other loyalty cards.

“The lounge is intended to facilitate the business class passengers but it doesn’t mean that other passengers will not have access to it,” İşbulan said before adding that, “Passengers of the economy class can as well access to the lounge after paying the fee of OMR20 and enjoy all that it offers.”

Talking exclusivel­y to the Times of Oman he said that there is also a treat for all food lovers as the lounge offers a great variety of open buffet.

“The food prepared is extremely fresh and mainly consists of traditiona­l and internatio­nal cuisines along with fresh and tasty compliment­ary snacks,” İşbulan added.

Stretched on the area of 3,050 square metres, the lounge has a seating capacity of 400 and welcomes 1,000 passengers on a daily basis. “The lounge theme is based on a reinterpre­tation of Oman’s traditiona­l architectu­re and distinctiv­e landscapes where every detail is throughout for guests and exclusive services are offered to make them feel comfortabl­e,” he said.

He added that the aim of the company is to win the award next year for its lounge at the Muscat Internatio­nal Airport.

“With the aim of providing comfort and cosiness to our esteemed members and guests, we are also looking forward to bagging the annual award for the best lounge in the region,” İşbulan said.

In addition to that, the company takes care of more than 180 million passengers every day in 57 airport lounges establishe­d in 15 countries.

“We are expanding our operations and soon will be operating new passenger lounges in New York, San Diego as well as Paris,” he said.

Besides the lounge, TAV Operations also offer services like meet and assist, fast track, porter and prime valet parking to provide a seamless travel experience for the passengers at the Muscat Internatio­nal Airport.
