World-leading products add sparkle to The Home Show
MUSCAT: The 2016 edition of The Home Show, the Sultanate’s preeminent showcase of the ideal home environment, opened at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre yesterday, paving the way for four days of lucrative retail shopping, B2B transactions, financing and contracting deals, and networking opportunities.
Dr Rasheed bin Al Safi Al Huraibi, chairman of the Tender Board, formally inaugurated the sixth edition of this popular trade fair. The annual event, which concludes on December 8, is keenly awaited for its exciting promotions, latest offerings in furniture and furnishings, bedroom and bathroom sets, kitchen systems and appliances, doors and windows, home appliances and electronics, wall and floor coverings, lighting and fixtures, and comprehensive selection of smart home solutions, says a press release.
Organised by well-known events management firm Global Exhibitions & Conferences (GEC), this year’s event has attracted the presence of more than 100 firms well regarded as leading lights of the home-building, interiors, furnishing and home ownership arena. The large majority are regular participants, who have long capitalised on the event’s huge appeal to grow their market share in Oman.
Lending further prestige and glamour to this year’s edition is its location in the upscale Oman Convention & Exhibition the nation’s flagship venue for high-profile exhibitions, conference and events.
Given its importance to advancing home ownership in the Sultanate, The Home Show is backed by the Ministry of Housing. Oman Housing Bank, Oman Real Estate Association, Muscat Electricity Distribution Company and Riyada, among other agencies also extended their support.
Sponsorship support for the event has come from a number of leading local furnishers and distributors. The list includes Berger Paints and Global Pyramid as gold sponsors, and Al Jassar Furnishing, Pro Windows, and Taj Al Lulu Ceramics as associate sponsors.
Part of The Home Show’s popularity stems from the exciting raffle draws and competitions that enable visitors to walk away with attractive prizes. This time around, the organisers have introduced an online contest targeted at all manner of participants. ‘Get Inspired and Win’ is an opportunity for visitors to get creative by suggesting a title for an artwork created on stone by contemporary artist Lucia Olive.
