Al Ameed triumph at Mazda Power of 5 second leg tourney

MUSCAT: The second leg of the Mazda Power of 5 Football Cup concluded last Saturday at the Seeb stadium.

The tournament saw 650 people take part and revel in the football as 128 matches over the course of the day saw teams pit themselves against each other to be crowned the best

The Al Ameed team eventually won the game even as each team’s players had the opportunit­y to showcase their skills in front of National Futsal team coach Younis al Fadhi, who selected for the National Futsal team at the end of the day.

“We are always looking for new talent for the national futsal team and its very encouragin­g to see so much raw talent on display at this tournament “said an enthusiast­ic Younis al Fadhi.

The coach also selected the following 3 players for the national futsal camp: Mustafa al Roqashi, Ahmed al Balushi and Younis al Habsi.

“It is heartening to see so many players turn out and take the chance to represent their country for Futsal. We believe in the power of sport and the important role it plays in the community, we will keep looking to support community football and the national futsal team through the Mazda Power of 5 Football Cup” said Riyadh Ali Sultan, General Manager of the Towell Auto Centre, representi­ng Mazda Oman.

The great response to the first 2 legs only builds anticipati­on to the final 2 legs of the tournament, which will be played over the remainder of the 2016-17 season.
