The session, which was attended by 35 staff from a range of levels and department­s within the organisati­on, proved to be extremely informativ­e and particular­ly relevant to those planning to further build a rewarding accounting and finance career with the organisati­on. ACCA offers qualificat­ions to people seeking careers in finance and management across 170 countries. Almost 50 per cent of the ACCA members in Oman are Omani nationals, and HSBC Oman seeks to increase that percentage by presenting opportunit­ies for self-developmen­t to staff.

Adnan Haroon, Chief Financial Officer who organised the event commented, “Finance is evolving and it is vital that staff are equipped with profession­al qualificat­ions that would enhance their technical skills and knowledge and that are essential for their career developmen­t plan.”

He added, “Obtaining other recognised profession­al qualificat­ions is equally important and staff need to explore opportunit­ies which are best suited for them and their career.”
