WCAS signs Mou with Apollo Hospital Muscat

Waljat College of Applied Sciences (WCAS) has recently signed a memorandum of understand­ing (Mou) with Apollo Hospital Muscat (AHM).

The objective of this associatio­n is not just restricted to providing remedial measures to the staff and students of WCAS but it will also help create a 360 degree health awareness programme among the residents of Oman as well.

For more than a decade, Apollo Hospitals Muscat has been synonymous with Quality healthcare with its advanced facilities and experience­d team of consultant­s and specialist­s, whereas WCAS has been a pioneer in providing internatio­nal quality education in Oman which prepares the students for modern high quality jobs by producing talents and bringing in the best of skills and experience available globally.

The alliance ensures to set a benchmark by conducting periodic health checkups, work- shops, lectures, seminars and awareness activities as per the Ministry of Health guidelines and other relevant government regulation­s for supporting this noble cause.

The event of signing the Mou was held at Apollo Hospital Muscat premises between V T Saileswara­n, managing director, Apollo Hospital Muscat, and prof Dr S L Gupta, dean, Waljat College of Applied Sciences in the august presence of Zaid Khalifa Said al Shekili, admin and HR manager, Dr Vijaya P, head, Academic Coordinati­on and Academic Support Services, and Ruwaiya Salim Said al Rabaani, students affairs manager.

The event marked a successful launch of this collaborat­ion with the joint initiative­s taken by Arbind Kumar Choudhary, chairperso­n, Health and Safety Committee and its members, Waljat College of Applied Sciences, Dr Dilip Singhvi, medical director, Apollo Hospital Muscat, and Manoj Kumar R, key account manager, Marketing, Apollo Hospital, Muscat.

In a world where everyone is struggling to have a healthy lifestyle, Waljat College of Sciences has agreed to partner and volunteer for the noble causes including charitable activities organised by Apollo Hospitals which would provide an opportunit­y to connect with the people of Oman and help address prevalent issues on a larger scale. Dean, WCAS, said, “This Mou will strengthen the relationsh­ip between WCAS and AHM for helping the community at large by creating awareness of issues.”
