West Africa’s Premier Internatio­nal Art Fair, ART X Lagos, is set to hold from November 2 to 4 as its traditiona­l venue, Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event, which is the biggest for the visual arts sector in Nigeria, parades the finest of contempora­ry art. At this edition, 18 galleries in Africa will feature 50 artists. The exhibiting galleries are Addis Fine Art (Ethiopia), Afriart Gallery (Uganda}, Art House- The Space, Artyrama (Nigeria), Bloom Art (Nigeria),Circle Art Agency (Kenya), Gallery 1957 (Ghana), Nike Art Gallery (Nigeria), Nubuke Foundation (Ghana)band Out of Africa Gallery (Spain).

Others include: Retro Africa (Nigeria), Signature Beyond (Nigeria), SMAC Gallery (South Africa), SMO Contempora­ry (Nigeria), Stevenson (South Africa), TAFETA (UK), Thought Pyramid (Nigeria) and Tiwani Contempora­ry (UK). One of the most interestin­g aspects of the fair is the talk session which features world-renowned artists. Titled ART X Talks, this session is curated by Missla Libsekal and scheduled to hold on November 3 and 4. The fun is incomplete without the ART X Live, a nightlife entertainm­ent segment at the waterfront lounge inside Civic Centre where inviting champagne glasses, fine wine and good music meet. The fair will also feature a series of diverse and exciting art installati­ons curated by A Whitespace Creative Agency. Last year, over 10,000 visitors were received at the three-day art fair which was launched in 2016.
