Life Begins At 60…As Oba Adedapo Tejuoso Serenades Wife on Her Birthday
Even the fairest maidens burn to the end of their youth like wicker lamps blowing against the most dreadful desert squall. Like one such fair maiden, Olori Olabisi Tejuoso has appreciated in womanliness and that rare humanity that distinguishes the regal from the inconsequential. Yes, pure bliss and pulsating thrills pervaded the ancient city of Abeokuta, Ogun State on – of all days of the week, a Monday – July 24th as friends and family members gathered to celebrate Olori Olabisi, one of the regal wives of revered royal father, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, the Osile of Oke Ona. It was the beautiful Olori’s 60th birthday and despite that it was a Monday, the celebration was as grand and elaborate and well- attended as they come. From fellow monarchs to prominent politicians like the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, and businessmen and industrialists like Chief Rasaq Akanni Okoya of Eleganza, they were all there in their full glory and finery. And the celebrant, an epitome of good health and overwhelming gratitude, could not have been more elated at the large turnout. At the family church, The African Church Cathedral of St James, Idi Ape, Abeokuta, where a thanksgiving service was held, Olori Olabisi swirled and swayed as she praised God for the attainment of age 60.
At the reception, held at The Marquee, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, the Olori was surrounded by her friends and relatives all gaily attired in royal blue. The party rose notches higher as the strength and soulfulness of Shuga Band’s performance did well to turn the party into a carnival. While age may no longer be on his side, Oba Tejuosho was a spectacle as he shuffled synchronously with his wife on the dance floor.
