He said it was the duty of ACCIL and companies operating in Nigeria to make the growing of the economy their focus.
“We want to attract high network companies, multinationals into the chamber to see how we can partner with them to build up the economy of Nigeria.
“All of us owe it as a duty to our country and to our youth, especially to develop our economy.”
Ejinkonye expressed optimism that the completion of ACCIL’s shopping mall would provide Unilever the opportunity of marketing its numerous products.
He explained that the mall would enhance economic activities, create jobs and ultimately help in reduction of poverty.
Responding, the Director of Corporate Affairs Department of Unilever PLC, Mrs. Soromidayo George, noted that the partnership with ACCIL was designed to promote the overall benefit of the national economy.
She said the various platforms initiated by ACCI, especially the centre for entrepreneurship development would create opportunity for the youth to acquire critical skills needed for self employment.
She commended the achievements of the current leadership of the chamber, especially on its partnership with a South African company to build the biggest shopping mall in Nigeria.
“These are amazing achievements that we should all be proud of and are capable of making the chamber one of the best in Nigeria and in Africa.”
George said Unilever’s participation in the activities of ACCIL would positively enhance the operation of the chamber in all ramifications.
According to her, Unilever over the years has contributed in developing the economy through its products and involvement of corporate social responsibilities.
She said the various brands of the company were designed to take care of the health and welfare of the people.
She said that the company had developed a sustainable living plan scheme through its numerous products to reduce the challenges faced by Nigerians in the area of health.
