The ‘White wing-tipped Collar’ is synonymous with the Advocate and the Advocate with oratory on what is pertinent, significant and what is poignant to contemporary life. And that is what The WhiteCollar column is, a variety column that discusses, by various written mediums, the legal issues that affect contemporary Nigeria, and hopes to inform meaningful discourse toward the ideal of our national community. Idowu is Counsel with Norfolk Partners, and as well as expertise in Law and Litigation, he has interests in Culture, Sports and Entertainment. He obtained a B.A. in Business Law and Marketing (Joint Hons.) from London Metropolitan University before his PostGraduate Diploma in Law, Professional Training for the Bar and qualifying as a Barrister in England and Wales. He has an L.L.M from BPP University London.

The word“Canvass”in legal parlance means to discuss thoroughly, to advance an issue, to examine a question in details. This column will attempt to critically analyse trending legal issues across several jurisdictions bordering on topics making rounds at the material time, ranging from judicial decisions to policy statements guided political simulations and socio-economic matters to statutory interpretations by commentators within and outside the legal profession, proffering constructive criticism based on different well thought out perspectives. The writer, Michael obtained his LL.B (Hons) and LL.M (Hons) from Delta State University and Queen Mary University of London respectively. He is a member of the School of International Arbitration London, Member of the Chartered institute of Arbitration UK, Member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys U.K. He is the Managing Associate of Messrs Karina Tunyan (San) & Co in F.C.T, Abuja. He is an Intellectual Property and a Private international law practitioner.

Daniel Hassan Bwala is a Legal Practitioner, Author, Adjunct Lecturer, Arbitrator and Regulatory Consultant. He was admitted to practice in England and Wales, by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London and has equally obtained his LLM in International Business Law from Coventry University, UK. His practice specialty areas are Litigation, Corporate and Commercial Law; Negotiation and Arbitration. He also devotes considerable time to public interest and development law via publication of articles in newspapers, international journals and as well as a legal analyst on National and Internationally syndicated television networks such as the Nigerian Television Authority, Africa Independent Television etc. He is a member of professional bodies and associations such as the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA); International Bar Association (IBA); the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London; Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK (MCIArb; London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA); British Nigeria Law Forum (BNLF). He has consulted for both national and international organisations such as the United States Institute of Peace (USIP). He is an adjunct lecturer and external examiner with the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja and he regularly act as a resource person to the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies.
