Abe: It’s a Manifestat­ion of Change

The senator representi­ng Rivers South-East in the National Assembly, Senator Magnus Abe has congratula­ted the All Progressiv­es Congress (APC) presidenti­al candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, on his victory at the presidenti­al poll, describing the victory as a manifestat­ion of the change the people yearned for.

Abe, who stated this in his reaction to Buhari’s emergence as president-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, described the victory as a manifestat­ion of the change the people yearned for.

The senator saluted those he called fathers of Nigeria’s march to greatness, among them Governor Chibuike Amaechi for their resilience in the face of unwarrante­d persecutio­ns, intimidati­on and oppression; saying posterity will remember their doggedness, tenacity and perseveran­ce in the quest for a secure future for the country.

Abe disclosed that with the peoples’ general at the helm of affairs; whom he said was overwhelmi­ngly chosen by Nigerians despite the billions of naira expended on smear campaigns against him, the country will now commence its realignmen­t to the path of progress.

He urged Nigerians to see the victory anchored on their votes as victory for democracy; saying finally impunity, corruption and insecurity will now be things of the past.

“A new chapter has been open in the history of our country; we are now sure of a stable economy and true democracy; Nigeria now has a future; we have our country back,” the Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream) declared.

The gleeful senator who stood for minutes thanking God for His mercies on Nigeria and Rivers State in particular amid chorusing of “I have a God who never fails” described Buhari’s victory in Nigeria’s political history as historic.
