Remo Stars Football Club have expressed their preparedness to secure a clean sheet against seventime champions, Enyimba on Sunday at the Enyimba Township Stadium in Aba.

The club’s Media Officer, Oladimeji Oshode told Daily Trust in a chat yesterday that the Sky Blue Stars have been tasked to turn things around against the two-time African champions.

“Our game against Enyimba International is not going to be an easy one, we are in a very tight situation and we presently have no choice than to turn the table around on Sunday,” he said.

The People’s Elephant won all two encounters between both sides last season, as they defeated the Sky Blue Stars 1-0 at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu and also won the reverse fixture 1-0 in Calabar.

on the recent ban and fine slammed on the club by the League Management Company, Oshode revealed that the club has warned fans to desist from such acts via media campaign.

“We sent out a social media campaign to our fans to educate about them about violence in the stadium and we have warned them not to dabble into such again.

“We are not just educating Remo Stars but also other fans from other clubs that will come to our stadiums. We tell them that violence is not the way when the referee makes a mistake,” he said. Idah Local Government Area has emerged the overall winner of the Inter LGA Handball Championship for U-18 and U-21 organized by the Kogi State Handball Association.

Idah emerged victorious over other local government areas such as Lokoja, Omala, Ibaji and Kabba, amongst others.

Speaking at the grand finale of the tournament in Lokoja, Kogi State Commissioner for Sports, Salisu Ogwu commended the organisers for hosting a successful competition and assured that the state government would support the development of all sports activities in the state.

Salisu urged the crop of talents discovered to be hard working and also give priority to their education, saying both must go side by side.

The newly appointed chairman of Kogi State Handball Association, Mr. Jubril Seidu noted that the competition became urgent as there was need to reposition the sports in the state and build on the past glory.

The best players in the tournament will be called to camp ahead of the National championship which is expected to kickoff on March 7 in Lagos.
