Sovereign Trust Insurance Open Golf tourney winner targets pro career
Abiodun Oyewoga, member of Abeokuta Golf Club (AGC), who won the 5th edition of Sovereign Trust Insurance Open Golf championship last Sunday, says his target is to become a professional golfer.

“I am very happy for fulfilling one of my dreams this year by winning trophies. The feat recorded is the result of hard work.
“I believe this is just the starting point because I am hopeful of picking more trophies before the golfing calendar comes to an end.
“My aspiration is to become a professional in the zero handicap category, which I believe will come to reality,” he said.
Evelyn Oyome won Ladies Best Gross with Adetunji Alaba as a runnerup, while Bode Mustapha and Ranti Olurin won the male and female categories of Veteran Best Net.
Obi Emeka won the Professional category with Alfa Sanusi and Ibrahim Salisu as first runner-up and second.
Mr Idowu Salami, the Captain, Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) lauded the commitment of the Sovereign Trust Insurance Company on the promotion of golf.
He said that the partnership that existed between IGC and Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc had continually yielded positive and beneficial results to both parties.
“The popularity of this tournament could be attested to by the large participation of golfers from all over the country.
“I was the Secretary of this Club when the company was the major sponsor of the maiden edition of ‘Insurance Open Golf Tournament’ in 2012”. (NAN)
