APC North East vows to embark on voter sensitisation
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the North East zone on Sunday declared its commitment to massive voters’ sensitisation, education and mobilisation to ensure victory for the its standardbearer in the February 14 presidential election, General Muhammadu Buhari and other candidates in the general elections.
This formed part of the communique issued at the end of the inaugural meeting of the party’s North East Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) held on Sunday at Zaranda Hotel in Bauchi signed by Ambassador Baba Ahmad Jidda, the zonal deputy coordinator (operations) of the council.
The communiqué said the meeting resolved to commit itself to a campaign that is devoid of violence and thuggery, adding that it also resolved to inaugurate the zonal presidential campaign structure with all its organs.
The meeting commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its decision to conduct elections in the three troubled states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.
It also commended the electoral body for successfully distributing permanent voter’s cards in the three states and the arrangements being put in place for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to exercise their democratic right to vote in the coming elections.
The inaugural meeting was chaired by the PCC zonal coordinator, Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State.
