- By David Ngobua

At least three top European clubs have joined the chase for Super Eagles and Kano Pillars midfielder, Shehu Abdullahi.

Daily Trust gathered exclusively that top clubs like FC Porto in Portugal, Valencia and Atletico Madrid in the Spanish La Liga have directed their agents who are already in Nigeria to discuss terms with the combative midfielder.

One of the club’s representatives who spoke on condition of anonymity said the club he represents is interested in the utility player because he is young and has got the characteristics of some of the big players like Real Madrid’s Xavi Alonso and Barcelona’s Busquets.

He said Abdullahi possesses the power and strength of an African athlete and the intelligence and finesse of a European.

“My club is interested in the young player because apart from the fact that he is a national team player, he possesses some special qualities which stand him out as a future star.

“He has the characteristics of great players like Barcelona’s Busquets and Real Madrid’s Xavi Alonso. He will be a good buy for my club,” he said.

Shehu who confirmed the development said he was on the verge of signing for a Saudi club before the representatives of the European clubs stormed the country for him.

“I am a bit confused but I still believe Allah will guide me in making the right choice. I am yet to sign for any club because I want to look very well before I leap.

“I can confirm to you that presently at least three top European clubs have approached me through their representatives. They are clubs in Spain and Portugal. I am still weighing the offers they have tabled. At the appropriate time, I will make the final decision,” he said.
