That attack on ex-President Jonathan’s home
Let me use this medium to condemn the recent attack on the country home of former President Goodluck Jonathan at Otuoke in Bayelsa State. Unfortunately, a soldier was reportedly killed during the attack.
It is unfortunate that such a highly placed citizen could be easily attacked. The act calls for sober reflection and deep thinking.
At this point, the need for protection of Nigerians from criminals cannot be overemphasized. In fact, such act could cause serious crisis within the polity.
I commend the timely condemnation of the incident by President Muhammadu Buhari when he personally called Jonathan to sympathise with him.
Also worthy of applause is President Buhari’s assurance that the protection of the life of the former president and all the citizens of this country would continue to be the major preoccupation of his administration.
Kudos to FG for releasing Dasuki, Sowore
The release of a former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) after four years in detention despite various charges and litigations against him has proved that this government has a listening ear.
Also, the publisher of Omoyele Sowore, after his re-arrest despite court orders gives credence to Federal Government’s intention to obey the law at the appropriate time.
In fact, the surprise release of the two people from the detention of the Department of State Services, ordered through the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, gives credibility to the obedience to rule of law of the present administration. release of the
