Rhetorical questions

-

Two Stuff articles over the past days seem incomplete to this letter writer.

‘‘We are also adding watches, jewellery, previous metals and stones, motor vehicles and boats to the list of high value goods for sale for cash over a specified value - which makes it harder for gangs’’.

Given that not all folk are gang members who are electing to use cash more and more in their everyday commerce in view of the disdain evident by NZ banks (withdrawing branches/ demanding internet banking/loss of cheque use/virtually impossible to make phone contact . . . all our operators are busy . . . ) no mention of the amount of cash threshold allotted to the above listed valuables. Is it $10,000?

Disbarred lawyer Arman’s failure to refund fees of $8385 to his wronged model client.

Surely the cosy club of lawyers have to cough up these misappropriated funds to the model as part of their collegial agreement/responsibilities.

Could future Stuff articles elucidate?

A R Baker, Te Kuiti

John Key that we did not have a housing crisis.

Monopolistic materials suppliers and bureaucratic blockages compounded the problem.

If blame was all about coincidental timing, we could say that there have been thousands of unwanted pregnancies since Christopher Luxon became Leader of the Opposition.

Hopefully, the Prime Minister’s promise to cut out some of the ideological projects from the Labour agenda might allow the electorate to feel less threatened. Ideology is being weaponised by rebellious groups within the Government.

Hugh Webb, Hamilton won’t be moved for the reward. His supporters should be taking responsibility for the children’s welfare and reminded that they are in breach of the law.

Simple solution is to send in the SAS or whatever they are called nowadays. We have some of the best in the world. Should only take a week at most.

Leo Koppens, Hamilton could express their opinion of the Government’s performance.

In the 2017 elections, the Labour Party was close to the heart of the people. Their performance during the Covid pandemic was excellent and they won a sweeping majority in the 2020 elections. But during the last few years, Labour has moved away from the community. Failed to listen to the community and went on the dictatorship path. The voice of the community was not heard by the Government.

In Hamilton, National MP David Bennett is not standing again, he made himself available for community events and the December 5 22 Citizenship ceremony. National MP Barbara Kuriger was present at the Waipa Citizenship ceremony on December 9 22. But Labour MPs send an apology for these events. This shows the difference between National and Labour since National is close to the people, they got a majority of over 2000 votes in Hamilton West byelection.
