Titanium Park set to expand
A surge of development is set to happen adjacent to Hamilton Airport.
The latest companies to have bought into the Titanium Park commercial estate are Waitomo Energy and agricultural machinery distributor Webbine.
Both companies are intent on expanding their business activities across the Waikato region, and it is hoped it will bring a significant amount of money and jobs to the area.
Other current land owners include Shaw Wire Ropes, NZ Boxer, The Caravan Higher Company, Armourguard, and Zero Fire Limited.
Stage 4 of the development of Titanium Park has been brought forward due to high demand.
Waikato Regional Airport Limited, the body which owns Hamilton Airport, said a private plan change submission the group made will be resolved in December this year.
If successful, this would open up another 12 hectares of land.
‘‘We have had a huge amount of interest in land in both the Central and Southern precincts over the past 12 months,’’ Waikato Regional Airport chief executive Mark Morgan said.
‘‘We are excited about the calibre and variety of businesses looking to locate themselves in the airport precinct.
‘‘We’ve attracted a lot of interest from business owners due to the position of the land and the easy connectivity to roading networks as well as those looking for flexibility in lot sizes.’’
Titanium Park has been established in close partnership with Hamilton Airport, taking advantage of the location to attract import and export businesses, as well as companies from the aeronautical industry.
Ray George of KGL Projects Limited said further development was on the horizon.
‘‘What I can say is that we do have two contracts on two different lots of land and they are looking very positive and should be confirmed sales in August this year,’’ George said.
‘‘This leaves only two larger high-profile lots remaining, adjacent to the Torpedo 7 distribution centre.’’
Armourguard has already built its regional centre in Titanium Park, The Caravan Higher Company’s owner Tambo Properties is currently constructing a building, NZ Boxer is scheduled to start construction next month, and planning and negotiations are currently under way to allow expansion in the Southern Precinct.
‘‘We are excited about the calibre and variety of businesses looking to locate themselves in the airport precinct.’’
