Gore District Court

-

A Gore judge was left with no option but to send a woman to jail after she refused the option of a home detention sentence.

Corrinnee Percy, 55, of Mataura, was sentenced to two months’ jail and ordered to pay $374.46 reparation by Judge Brandts Giesen in the Gore District Court yesterday for assault using a walking stick as a weapon and intentional damage on May 31.

Percy pushed the victim, who she believed her partner had cheated on her with, in the chest before hitting her several times with a walking stick.

Percy then broke four windows at the victim’s flat.
