A Correction’s review in June last year covering Wilson’s management by the Probation Service found he was handled properly.

Correction’s chief probation officer Darius Fagan said Wilson had a good level of oversight and was given significan­t support.

While in prison, Wilson had received more 300 individual sessions with a psychologi­st and Correction­s’ contact with him had exceeded minimum levels for life parolees.

‘‘There was also proactive communicat­ion between Wilson’s probation officer, his employer and his family which ensure Community Correction­s staff had a good level of independen­t informatio­n about his circumstan­ces.’’

Many people had worked hard to provide Wilson with support, Fagan said. ‘‘They will be asking what more they could have done to prevent this horrific tragedy from occurring.’’

David Bain was ‘‘shocked’’ to hear his groomsman had murdered again, long-time advocate Joe Karam said.

‘‘It seems as though that this appeared to be completely out of the blue, but the fact the same thing that’s happened twice there’s no escaping that the man’s got a terrible problem and he should not have been in society.’’
