Fifth show added

-

Elton John will play a second show at Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium in 2020.

Part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, the announcement brings John’s tally of Kiwi shows up to five, with three already sold out.

The tour will be the legendary Rocket Man singer’s final ever, according to publicists

The second Auckland show is scheduled for February 11, 2020.

Two shows at Mission Estate Winery in Hawke’s Bay, and one other at Mt Smart had already sold out prior to the second Auckland show announcement. VIP tickets for the Dunedin show – on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Forsyth Barr Stadium – were still available last night.

John’s second Mission Estate Winery Concert sold out in just over an hour, once again leaving many punters frustrated at their inability to purchase tickets.

Those trying to get tickets for his second show at Mission Estate Winery had faced an hour’s wait to get to the purchasing part of the website – less-than-60-seconds after tickets went on sale at noon.

The second Mission show, on Waitangi Day, was added after tickets for his February 8 and February 9 shows in Napier and Auckland sold out, leaving many fans feeling like they’d missed out, and many frustrated at the problems faced by the ticketing system. 20,000 pre-sale tickets for the February 8 show sold out in just over an hour, with more than 55,000 fans trying to secure seats for a 26,000 capacity concert.

Tickets for the February 11 show go on sale to Rocket Club members via eltonjohn.com/ rocket-club on February 20 at 9am. General tickets are on sale on February 21 at 9am via Ticketmaster.
