HOW THE ALL BLACKS RATED:
Jordie Barrett 8.5: Brilliantly composed to deflect a cross-field kick inside for Ngani Laumape to score the opener. Grabbed a try himself and was reliable under the high ball. Did make a couple of mistakes but more than justified his selection.
Israel Dagg 7.5: Not a heck of a lot of attacking opportunities. But defended well, was good under the high ball and chased kicks all night. Anton Lienert-Brown 7.5: Delivered the final pass to put Jordie Barrett in for a try. Cost the team three points when he got his timing wrong at the breakdown.
Ngani Laumape 9: Scored the opening try, setup the second with a peach of a ball to Lienert-Brown. Like Jordie Barrett, silenced the critics who questioned his selection. Julian Savea 7: Couple of handling errors, including an early one with the line begging. Bounced back with some typically powerful runs.
Beauden Barrett 7: Hard to look past him missing a conversion and a simple penalty in the stalemate. Cross-field kicking game was better. Also pulled in a try-saving intercept. Aaron Smith 8: Good snappy service. Kicking game was also on song. Kieran Read 8: Was everywhere in his 100th test. Anxious moment when he copped an elbow to the head late in the first half. Was guilty of giving up a silly obstruction penalty.
Sam Cane 7.5: Was far from the only one, but his hands let him down on a couple of occasions. Made 10 tackles before was subbed for Ardie Savea with 20 minutes to play.
Jerome Kaino 7.5: Copped a yellow card for collecting Alun Wyn Jones on the jaw. Injected plenty of physicality into the game. Sam Whitelock 8.5: Beast of a game, highlighted by a couple of big hits in his tackle count (10). Earned his team a key penalty at the breakdown.
Brodie Retallick 8: Another whale of a game by the big lock.
Owen Franks 8: A key cog in the All Blacks’ dominant scrum.
Codie Taylor 8: They weren’t all pretty, but lineout went 14/14 with his quick-fire darts. Subbed for Harris for final seven minutes. Joe Moody 8: Like Franks, was subbed after 57 brutal minutes of action.
Reserves: Wyatt Crockett 6.5: Came on for Moody for the final 23 minutes. Despite doing all he could do to roll away, gave away the penalty which led to the game ending in a 15-15 draw.
Charlie Faumuina 7.5: Solid 23 minutes off the bench in his final test for the All Blacks before leaving for France.
Ardie Savea 7: Came on for Sam Cane for the final 20. Lost a ball forward in the opposition 22 when trying to take a Beauden Barrett transfer.
