Tricia Cheel

“With a million species facing extinction, my focus will be to develop a comprehensive, viable, ecologicallysound blueprint from grassroots, for the transformational changes needed to survive: Lifting burdens, like cruel brodifacoum and 1080 poisons, carcinogenic glyphosate, fluoride and 5G, off the living world, for a kinder, healthier and happier Auckland.”

Thanh Binh Nguyen

“I am a young and dedicated leader for Auckland Council and Auckland. I seek to consolidate and strengthen our Super City. I will lead the build-up of our economy, strengthen our council organisations and work fairly with the environment.”

Tadhg Tim Stopford

“US style capitalism is failing us all. As mayor, or an ADHB board member, I would move Auckland to prosperous sustainability by advancing hemp medicine, issuing infrastructure bonds instead of raising rates, integrating public transport into higher density green spaces, and maintaining a social stake in wealth creation and monopolies.”

Michael Coote

“I believe that Auckland Council should strictly adhere to the nonnegotiable ethical principle of racial equality between persons in every respect and without exception. Auckland Council and Auckland ratepayer funds cannot be associated in any way with racial or ethnic privileging, separatism, or special rights.”

Susanna Kruger

“Your vote gives me the mandate to provide land for a building to host an entrepreneur academy for the un-/ under-employed; skills-based microbusiness incubator supporting selfemployment; inquisitorial court without judges and lawyers; and ecofriendly low-cost housing scheme. This social enterprising solution creates a strong home economy.”

Phil O’Connor*

“No city can succeed while it kills its young people. Auckland is the abortion capital of New Zealand and can sink into chaos while it continues to slap God in the face. I will encourage the people of Auckland to follow the commands of God, as it is only by doing this that we can succeed.”

Peter Vaughan*

“I was asked to run for mayor because of my involvement and communications with everyday people from all levels of society. I've heard people complain about issues they have with council: not being heard, considered or advised about. Being mayor provides a significant opportunity to bring fresh ideas and a real future vision to the city.”

David John Feist*

“I am standing because I am very concerned that Auckland City has created a permanent housing crisis. My priorities will be drafting a new Unitary Plan with affordable housing. We will also allow residential subdivision on all land zoned rural in the Auckland area. Unless this is done, we will all become peasants.”

Alezix Heneti

“Because I'm decisive, sharp and strategic, awesomely trained by JT Foxx daily (refer Millionaire Flix) and Robin Banks (refer John Kehoe's Mind Powers Quantum Leap) and Landmark (in Fanshawe St, Auckland, over 19 years). Makes me decisive, sharp, and strategic for you the voter. I'm trustworthy.”

John Hong*

“Auckland has entered an unprecedented stage of new opportunities and challenges that requires innovative, pragmatic approaches. One fourth of new Aucklanders are born out of New Zealand, they are priceless assets and under-utilised. I bring a global and team perspective . . . I know what Aucklanders need and want.”

Craig Lord

“Removing niceties and focusing on necessities and core services. No more vanity projects and reckless spending. Stop AT’s purposeful congestion. Build a waste to energy plant. Make CCOs and council departments accountable to the people they serve. Auckland is desperately looking for a leader and I’m your best option.”

Tom Sainsbury

“When Fiona is elected mayor she’ll inject a lot of money into the local wine industry and make it free to ferry to Waiheke to go and enjoy their Syrahs. She’ll also invest money into the glass-blowing industry in Devonport. Let’s all drink cheeky wines out of kooky glassware!”

Annalucia Vermunt

“Voting Communist League — the only working-class voice in the elections — is a first step in fighting for a programme in working people’s interests. Workers need to act independently of the politicians and parties that defend the capitalist system, which is in a long-term crisis marked by assaults on our rights.”

Genevieve Forde

“If Aucklanders want a mayor who has an effective plan to cut our greenhouse gas emissions 45 per cent by 2030 — or better — I am the candidate who will make that happen! I am also dedicated to protecting our environment, including the oceans, and finding homes for all homeless people.”

Jannaha Henry*

“I'm putting up my hand to help, advocating for authenticity as well as common sense. If I can mobilise 600,000 eligible people that were disengaged in the last election to be bothered, that would be a win for democracy. I am not tainted by life experience, so will be guided by you

. . . and be your voice.”

Ted Johnston

“Auckland needs a new mayor. Problems of congestion, homelessness, environmental and CCO abuse have worsened. But not a mayor selling assets, cutting income and spending furiously. I have a vision of council focused on its prime duties efficiently, caring for its people and environment. My task: Fix Auckland.”

Brendan Bruce Maddern

“Plastic roads. Fair fares. Evening classes. We have a mountain of waste plastic piling up, while our roads crumble. Let's reseal using the proven technologies of plastic roads. Repeal the farebox recovery rort. Evening classes are just a plain good idea. Education, confidence, community.”

Glen Snelgar

“Rates capped for 3 years! Save 11.5c per litre on fuel when the tax is scrapped! Get AT spending under control! We won’t pay an extra 11.5c tax for invisible trams and 1700+ staff! Freedom to live your life! Break this PC madness! Vote Glen Snelgar! Old Skool Liberal.”

Wayne Young*

“The birds, bees and trees have all had homes for millions of years. The poor homeless, the dispossessed and the leaky building home owners don't. No protection from the climate, no home, no city to actively be part of. We need a lot of proper houses built — cheap and rent-to-buy — that don't leak. My policies: Houses; flats.”
