THUMBS UP & DOWN

-

■ Thumbs up to Tongariro School senior students for their great work in putting on a dinner and play. Most enjoyable night. Well done to all participants.

■ Thumbs up to the hard working and friendly recycling truck guys on Karamu St last week. I missed the truck and stalked them in my car, they gladly took my boxes and sorted it all quick smart. Great service, well done guys!

■ Thumbs up to the workers and Taupo¯ District Council gardeners that have done a lovely job on the new roundabout on Ruapehu St. Traffic flows so much easier now.

■ Thumbs up to Tu¯ rangiTongariro Community Board and especially to Zac. At last Tu¯ rangi has appropriate and relevant signs to welcome people into the town. A great achievement!

■ Thumbs up to Macpac for repairing my 30-year-old pack. Great service.

■ Thumbs up to Scotty’s Electrical for the fantastic service when my washing machine sprung a leak. A replacement machine was provided until mine could be fixed. Above and beyond service.

■ Thumbs up to Nick of Lakeland Refrigeration who installed our new heat pump, spent time organising the Wi-Fi and cleaned up after the installation. Best customer service ever.

■ Thumbs up to the team at Caltex Rockgas, particularly your delivery driver, for the fast, friendly and reliable service — it doesn’t go unnoticed. Your next day (or sometimes same day!) deliveries in any weather are much appreciated.

■ Thumbs up to Body Fuel’s cheese scones, in my never-ending search for Taupo¯ ’s best cheese scone I may have found a winner.

■ Thumbs up to James at Warehouse Stationery, who went out of his way to get my canvas print done for my son’s birthday. From a grateful mum.

■ Thumbs down to whoever cut down two large holly trees growing on the verge on Rokino Rd. They weren’t in the way of pedestrians.

■ Thumbs down to the brain-dead moron who carefully bagged up their dog’s poo and left the bag in the middle of the footpath on Scott Drive. Quite what they imagined would happen to it, I cannot guess. However, I have picked it up and put into my rubbish bag — something you are obviously incapable of doing.

■ Thumbs down to all the CIA spy wannabes who insist in driving in thick fog in white trucks without their lights on, thinking that this is part of their camouflage 101.

■ Thumbs down to the truck that was parked on a empty section on Victory Drive, you ruined the grass on the walkway plus trucks are not allowed to be parked in a residential area.

■ Thumbs down to the mindless idiots who have destroyed trees and plantings in the gardens of the new roundabout on Ruapehu St. What is in the head space of these ‘humans’? Is it the alcohol they consume at night then decide for a bit of fun to destroy what has been put in place for everyone to enjoy? Hopefully the security cameras in the area can tell who they were and they are made to pay for their actions.

■ Thumbs down to the people who still allow their automatic sprinkler systems to operate on lawns and gardens when the lake is so low.

■ Do you have a bouquet or a brickbat?
