The Kāpiti Chorale is set to bring the gift of music to the community with its upcoming enchanting musical event Christus Natus Est.

Under the guidance of music director Eric Sidoti, a respected choral conductor in the Wellington region, and assistant music director AnnMarie Stapp, the Kā piti Chorale promises a remarkable musical experience to conclude its 40th year with this final performance.

Sidoti, who hails from the United States and has been living in New Zealand for many years, is an expert in conducting and composition.

Stapp, with two decades of experience in directing music groups in Kāpiti, brings her unique mentorship to the chorus.

The concert will feature the musical skills of pianist Phillip O’Malley and organist Heather Easting, enriching the experience with their beautiful accompaniments.

Additionally, the remarkable talents of soprano soloist Emily Jane Stockman and bass soloist Joseph Haddow will take centre stage.

The programme for the afternoon includes a selection of classic and contemporary pieces.

The concert will begin with Adeste Fideles by John Wade and feature pieces like O Magnum Mysterium by Francis Poulenc and Hallelujah Chorus by George Frideric Handel. The audience will also be invited to join the chorus for Look Toward Christmas! by Jillian Bray.

The highlight of the afternoon is the rare gem Christus Natus Est ,a composition by celebrated UK composer Cecilia McDowall.

“This piece is a fitting conclusion to the concert and promises to be a memorable musical experience,” chorale president Les Church said.
