CHRISTMAS VILLAGES AND ATTRACTION­S

Triton Square, in Valletta, is currently hosting Fairyland − Santa’s City, featuring attraction­s such as Rudolph’s Wheel, an ice-skating rink and a Christmas market, as well as a World Cup Village. Santa’s City runs until January 6.

The Malta Fairs and Convention­s Centre in Ta’ Qali has turned into Santa’s World Malta until January 1. Activities include an elf school and cinema, Santa’s House, live shows and entertainm­ent by Danusan.

Other Christmas villages are found at the Artisan Village in Ta’ Qali (until December 24), the Salina National Park in St Paul’s Bay (until December 28), Popeye Village in Mellieħa (until January 8) and the Malta National Aquarium in Qawra (until January 8).

Meanwhile, a whole programme of activities is planned for the coming month at the Valletta Waterfront, while Esplora in Kalkara is organising various Christmasr­elated fun science experiment­s, workshops and live shows from Saturday, December 17 until January 8.

Besides, various events are also being organised in towns and villages across Malta and Gozo in the coming days. These include Tastes Like Christmas, being held today in Qormi; Milied fl-Imsida also taking place today; A Legend in the City, happening near St Paul’s church area in Cospicua, tomorrow and on Tuesday; Milied fis-Siġġiewi on Tuesday and Christmas Around the Village in Għaxaq on Friday, December, 16. There will also be a Christmas market at Pjazza Tigné, Sliema, until Tuesday, and a Christmas village at Żejtun Secondary School from Wednesday to Friday, December 16.

In Gozo, Villa Rundle Gardens in Victoria are home to a Christmas market until Sunday, December 18; the event Il-Qala tissaħħar bil-presepji will feature a crib exhibition at the Qala parish church from tomorrow to January 8; and Għajnsiele­m will be hosting the 10th edition of Bethlehem f’Għajnsiele­m from Tuesday to January 8.
