Celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘Xjenza’
The President of the Chamber of Scientists, Professor Alex Felice, the editor- in- chief, Professor Giuseppe Di Giovanni and all the editorial board of Xjenza online ( http://www.mcs.org.mt/index.p hp/ xjenza/ editorial- board), invite the public to the Celebration of the 20th anniversary of Xjenza. This will be held at the Aula Magna, University of Malta Valletta Campus, on Friday, 23 September at 7pm.
During the celebration, the Jubilee issue will be presented to the public and the media. Xjenza entered the world of scientific journals with its first issue in 1996.
Rector Professor Alfred J. Vella will deliver a speech on Doing science on a small island state: the challenges for the university and its surroundings and the role of Xjenza. This will be followed by an address by the President of the Chamber of Scientists, Prof. Felice and the different editors of Xjenza from Prof. Angela Xuereb, the first E-i-C, to Prof. Giuseppe Di Giovanni, the current E-i-C.
The Minister for Education and Employment, Evarist Bartolo, the CEO of MCST, Dr Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, Pro-Rector Research & Knowledge Transfer, Prof. Ing. Saviour Zammit, and the director Library Services, University of Malta, Kevin J. Ellul will participate in the discussion on the importance of scientific publications in Science and Technology national development.
Xjenza Online is a peer-reviewed, open access interna- tional journal. The scope of the journal encompasses research articles, original research reports, reviews, short communications and scientific commentaries in all fields of science. Xjenza online is essential in the scientific development of early-stage researchers in Malta, representing a learning platform on which to write and publish a scientific paper.
