Hockey: Qormi Daikin win HAM KO

Qormi Daikin won the HAM KO when they beat champions Trust Payments Floriana Young Stars 4‐1.

The Yellow/Blacks, who also won the Super Cup last month, had a perfect second quarter as they scored three goals and this paved the way for their great vic‐ tory.

After a score of 0‐0 in the first quarter, Qormi Daikin came out well in the second quarter when they scored three goals through Kyle Micallef, Juan Sarcia and the captain Steve Tanti.

In the third quarter Kyle Mi‐ callef added a personal double and the fourth one for Qormi until Andrea Curmi reduced the score for the Greens.

At the end of the match, Gordon Mifsud the Hockey Associatio­n of Malta president presented the KO cup to Qormi Daikin Steve Tanti.

Umpires: Alessandro Amore and Luke Busuttil Leaver.

In a match from the Hockey 7s league, Qormi and Rabat shared the spoils in a 2‐2 scoreline.

Nicole Zammit and Nathan Pace Gasan scored for Qormi with James Azzopardi who was twice on the mark for Rabat.

Meanwhile, Marsaskala Heat had a successful weekend as their teams won the title in their respective leagues.

In fact, in the under‐16 league, the Seasouthsi­ders beat Qormi Daikin 8‐2.

Kane Zammit and Jerome Carabott scored three goals each with Alessandro Piscopo and Yan Camilleri adding more goals for their team.

Liam Carabott and Sam Cassar reduced the scoring margin for Qormi.

On the other hand, in the under‐14 league, Marsaskala Heat dominated their match against GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks to win 14‐1.

Liam Carabott scored five goals, Jamie Gambin and Shezlynane Galea Calleja notched three goals while Asif Akram, Kayden Cassar and Thomas Mifsud also put their names down among the scorers.

Leon Falzon scored the only goal for Żurrieq.
