Ministry responsibilities revealed: Clint Camilleri responsible for hunting, Owen Bonnici gets PBS
Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri will continue to be responsible for bird hunting, while new Culture Minister Owen Bonnici will be responsible for the public broadcaster, the government’s newly published list of ministerial responsibilities shows.
The list was published on Wednesday, two days after Robert Abela’s new Cabinet met for the first time.
Camilleri, who used to be a hunter and trapper, held onto the hunting portfolio despite the calls from environmental NGOs and conservationists for the portfolio to be handed elsewhere.
Bonnici meanwhile takes over the state broadcaster portfolio which used to fall under Carmelo Abela’s remit when he was Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister. Carmelo Abela, despite being elected, was one of six to lose his place in Cabinet after the 26 March elections.
Robert Abela’s Cabinet is made up of 18 ministers and four parliamentary secretaries, with two more parliamentary secretaries expected to be appointed once the casual election and gender corrective mechanism process is completed.
