Gozo Motocross championsh­ip

The Gozo Motocross Associatio­n organised the semifinals of the Yamaha Gozo Motocross championsh­ip last Sunday at Ta’ Xhajma Motocross track.

All the riders worked hard to keep their place as the championsh­ip is slowly but steadily coming to an end.

In Class A, Steve Xuereb achieved maximum points as he came first in all the three heats while David Dimech followed in second place.

Joseph Bigeni did well to finish third, followed closely by Robert Spiteri Xuereb.

Class B was just as exciting. Jorn Stellini and Nataniel Camilleri came in first and second respective­ly while Glenn Vella was third. Maltese competitor Louis Debono came in fourth.This class is led by Nataniel Camilleri.

In Class C, Anthony Fenech, moved down to second place following Matthew Spiteri who did well on his YZF 250cc and won first place. Jonathan Grange came in third. Fenech is leading this class with the largest amount of points.

The youths who rode their motorised bikes enjoyed another short session at the track. One again, 1st place was won by Isaac Bartolo. Andrea Axiaq was second followed by Chris Tyler Mizzi.

All winners were awarded trophies and medals for the day’s hard work. DBar Restaurant supported this event together with Yamaha of Gasan Zammit Ltd

The Gozo Motocross Associatio­n announced that the finals of the Yamaha championsh­ip 2018 will take place late May.
