Five Maltese off-road team members, from the All Wheel Drive Club Malta, took part in a very difficult and extreme off-road event in the south of Italy. The event, known as WTI Warn Trophy Italy Extreme Offroad, was organized at Benestare, a small municipality in the Province of Reggio Calabria, 90 kilometres southwest of Catanzaro and about 40 kilometres east of Reggio Calabria. The three days event took place on the 6th, 7th and 8th of April.

The Maltese teams were Nusu Off-Road Racing Team composed of father and son Neville and Lee Ciantar, Borg Racing Team composed of Owen Borg and Rupert Galea, Hulk Racing Team comprising Brandon Cassar and Thomas Galea, Maxxis Racing Team with Jeffrey Pulis and Derek Vella, and Wild Crawler team - Robert Caruana and Alan Zahra.

Three of the Maltese teams won the first 3 places of the Ultra 4 Category. Nusu off-road racing team finished first followed by Borg Racing Team and Hulk Racing Team.

Maxxis Racing Team finished in the fourth place after facing mechanical issues at the rear right shock absorber.

Wild Crawler Team competed in the Extreme Class and finished first as well.

This competition is a very extreme one. 14 teams took part covering 70km in three days. The terrain varies from beaches, dry streams and huge rocks.

According to the organisers all Maltese teams did a great job in particular Team Hulk, that according to them was composed of a young driver and navigator with a relatively small modified Range Rover competing against better and bigger modified vehicles.
