Marsaxlokk beat Luqa to obtain first victory

Marsaxlokk registered their first win when they easily beat Luqa St Andrew’s by four goals to nil in the first match at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.

Kenneth Ezekie and Alan Tabone scored braces on 41 and 54 minutes and 53 and 57 minutes respective­ly.

In the second match, Gudja United easily beat Gharghur by four goals to nil with the goals coming from Nicholas Zammit on 20 minutes, Adolphus Marshall on 28 minutes, Jean Claude Cesare on 54 minutes and Joseph Chetcuti on 87 minutes.

St George’s bounced back from their recent debacles with a fine 1-0 victory over league leaders Birzebbuga. Kurt Tabone scored the winner on 33 minutes.

Attard registered their second positive result in a row when they registered a goalless draw against top side Swieqi United in the first match at the Sirens Stadium.

Siggiewi also rose to the top of the table when they beat Fgura United by two goals to nil in the second match at the Sirens Stadium. Tayo Grozev opened the scoring from a penalty on 35 minutes adding another three minutes from time.

Kalkara rose to fifth place when they thrashed Mgarr United by six goals to one. Timmy Thomas scored a poker on 19, 28, 40 and 91 minutes with the other goals coming from Dylan Xuereb and Julian Spiteri on 72 minutes. Lazar Doric scored a consolatio­n goal on 65 minutes.
