Citadel Insurance launches PV panels policy for World Environment Day

-

5 June is World Environment Day, and Citadel Insurance is celebrating the day with the launch of a new insurance product: a PV Panels Policy. This allows you to insure your investment in green technology, protecting your photovoltaic panels from unforeseen damages.

“This is another example of our commitment to the environment and an extension of our strategy of promoting environmentally friendly technology to our customers,” Angela Tabone, managing director of Citadel Insurance, said.

As in previous years, Citadel is also inviting its clients to join in and celebrate World Environment Day. All customers that renew a policy, or purchase a new one, on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of June will be given a free plant. In addition, on the 5th of June, Citadel Insurance will also sponsor 50% of the cost of electric cab rides in Valletta. “By sponsoring an electric cab in Valletta we aim to provide awareness to encourage greener transport. These electric cabs offer silent, emission free transport around the city and are perfect for getting around a World Heritage Site.” Ms Tabone said.

Furthermore, those that purchase an ‘eco home’ or an ‘eco motor’ insurance policy could win a MacBook Air, or a Sony TV (terms and conditions apply).

Ms Tabone also stressed the importance of raising awareness on environmental policies and through these initiatives Citadel’s team aims to encourage the general public to bear in mind the ways in which they can contribute to a better environment. Environmental resources are limited and are quite sensitive to everything that we do. We are starting to experience the effects of the actions of generations that came before us and it is now our responsibility to preserve our natural resources. Opting for alternative energy technologies and recycling practices are a few of the choices we can make to invest in a sustainable future.

One of Citadel’s main commitments in its Corporate and Social Responsibility strategy is to safeguard the environment and encourage the general public to follow suit. It continues to support World Environment Day year after year.
