Additional Features On PRIHATIN APP

Perkeso launches more functions on its mobile application for smoother interaction

-

THE Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) has launched additional features on its Prihatin mobile application, aimed at facilitating interactions and dealings between Insured Persons and Perkeso.

This improved version will enable users to check and download their statements, register for the Self-employment Social Security Scheme, obtain general information, and have access to Sahabat Prihatin.

The launch took place at the Kesuma Madani Programme Chinese New Year event held in Doubletree by Hilton, Johor Bahru.

Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong, who graced the event, said that he supports the progressive measures taken by Perkeso to move towards digitalisation.

“The app will change the landscape of interaction between users and Perkeso by featuring several functions that can now be accessed directly by users, digitally, rather than visiting the branches,” he said.

On top of that, the app will be updated to include Rehab Navigator functions such as the delivery of medical goods including Lindung+ products, and the social security marketplace.

Separately, Portal Matrix will be rebranded to the Prihatin website by the first quarter of 2024 where users can now enjoy the Prihatin functions through the website as well.

In his speech, Sim also shared

that Perkeso made benefit payments of up to Rm5.7bil to Insured Persons and their dependents last year.

Perkeso’s excellent fiscal flow has helped further increase the sustainability of funds and the ability to pay interest.

He said that the financial performance for 2023 was the best since Perkeso’s establishment in 1971, recording an estimated surplus of Rm1.8bil—a 50% increase compared to the previous year.

Sim added the success was

driven by Perkeso’s financial achievements in 2023, which recorded positive growth in all aspects as compared to the previous year, through contribution income and enforcement that saw an increase of 14%. Gross investment income increased to 27% with Return on Investment (ROI) exceeding 6%.

“It is as a result of Perkeso’s proactive measures in enhancing protection for workers in Malaysia, such as enforcing the increase of insured salary ceiling

and amending the Employment Act 1955 related to the coverage of overtime pay.

“Perkeso is also encouraged to explore new forms of protection such as protection outside of work (no fault accident), as well as strengthen the quality of governance and services holistically in ensuring more sustainable and universal protection.

“That said, the strong financial performance and a more dynamic fiscal space would allow Perkeso to further reinvest in the

application of various technologies in Perkeso services for the benefit of contributors.

“This is a spillover effect from the financial integrity recorded by Perkeso,” Sim highlighted.

At the event, Sim also presented hampers and ang pow, with a total value of RM164,696, to 145 individuals: 40 single mothers, 90 orphans and 15 Perkeso beneficiaries. He hoped the contributions will help lighten the burden of their expenses, and put a smile on their faces.
