KOTA KINABALU: Another politician has been hit with accusations of having extra marital affairs over social media.

Kota Belud MP Munirah Majilis has come out to lodge a police report after she found herself being accused of being the third party in a marriage.

Munirah, 36, who is also Energy, Technology, Science, Climate Change and Environment deputy minister, has denied all the allegations against her.

She said the allegations posted in the controversial blogger Raja Petra’s page – MalaysiaToday – were meant to defame her.

“I have nothing to do with any of the claims and am not involved in any way,” said Munirah who is still single.

“This is done to bring me down and tarnish me and my family’s image,” she said through her Facebook account posting.

“The blog’s article has malicious intentions in humiliating and threatening my integrity as a representative of the people.

“I am also making this report to clear my name and that of my family.

“I also want the writer of the portal to be investigated.”

According to the blogger, the man, who is one of Munirah’s aides, had even beaten up his wife after she uncovered some WhatsApp messages between the two on his mobile phone.

Munirah had lodged a report over the matter in Selangor and is urging the police to investigate the writer.

The Wirawati chief of Parti Warisan Sabah discovered the article through a link sent to her by a friend.

“This kind of article by the blogger has bad intentions and it hurts the image of the people’s representative,” said Munirah, who in the recent elections defeated the more fancied Datuk Salleh Said Keruak in Kota Belud.

The controversy came just barely two weeks after a picture resembling an aide of Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran in a compromising position with an unidentified woman in bed was posted on social media.

The picture was posted on social media, purportedly by a woman claiming to be his wife.

In the post written in Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia, the woman warned other women about the man.

“Today, I want to give a reminder to all the women who want to approach my husband. “I am used to such a situation.

“To all the women, don’t hope that my husband will divorce me to be with you,” read the post.

Kulasegaran has since come to the defence of his senior official, saying: “That is an old story, more than two years old.

“There is a police report and police are investigating.”
