Unity is something nice for kids
Campaign teaches pupils importance of understanding diversity
KOTA DAMANSARA: The #SaySomethingNice Campaign 2018 made its way to Sri KDU Primary School in a move to instil the unity spirit in young children to let them understand the diversity in Malaysia.
The projects in the campaign includes #CherishSomethingNice, #SingSomethingNice, #WriteSomethingNice, # PlaySomethingNice, #MakeSomethingNice, #LearnSomethingNice, and #PerformSomethingNice.
“One of the projects, #CherishSomethingNice where children have to create shields, go through obstacles and protect the pieces of puzzles of the Malaysian map, symbolises that they will rise up to protect the country in the future,” said Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil.
He added that this is a very good way to instil patriotism in children.
“It is a great privilege to work with young children because they remind us that at a young age, we do not see our friends based on their background, skin colour, races or religion,” principal of Sri KDU Djohann Iskandar said.
“We see them as friends and this is exactly what we want them to practise.”
“Sri KDU has been supportive of the #SaySomethingNice Campaign, and this year will be the sixth year of collaboration,” managing director of Zubedy (M) Sdn Bhd Anas Zubedy said.
“It will instil the spirit of Malaysia every year for the 17 days between
Hari Merdeka and Hari Malaysia, especially in our school system.”
Also present at the campaign was Coach Hanky, the founder of Hankidz Zone Sdn Bhd, who praised the idea.
#SaySomethingNice Campaign (#SSNC) is a Unity campaign that
creates a positive Malaysia by “creating million moments of unity”.
The public is welcomed to join the closing ceremony of the campaign on Sept 22 at Dewan Memorial Tun Hussein Onn at 9.30am.
