Sihanoukville here I come!
PETALING JAYA: She never expected reading a travel story would land her a travel experience of her own, but that’s what happened to a mother of two, who will be flying off to Cambodia.
Lee Wui Yuen is the first winner of The Star’s Fly Away Giveaway, which runs every Saturday for the month of October.
The 44-year-old won a pair of flight tickets to the coastal city of Sihanoukville, courtesy of AirAsia.
“This is the first and only contest I have ever joined and I am so excited to win,” said the housewife from Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
Lee, who was accompanied by her husband, received her prize at Menara Star yesterday.
Lee chanced upon the contest while waiting for her son’s tuition class to end.
“My son’s Mandarin class ended late, so I decided to download a QR code app on the spot and join the contest,” she said, adding that she enjoyed reading the story.
Lee plans to use the flight tickets to take her husband and two teenage sons on a family holiday.
“I have not heard much about Sihanoukville before this.
“So I am really looking forward to discover more of the local attractions and culture there,” she said.
Although Lee usually reads Chinese newspapers, she subscribes to The Star as she wants her sons to stay informed on the latest happenings and improve their command of the English language.
“The Star has really opened up my sons’ views on the world,” she said, adding that they would discuss interesting articles with her.
Whenever Lee gets hold of the newspaper, though, she will look out for the health and food articles in Star2.

There are also designer handbags up for grabs every Wednesday this month. However for this week, it will be on Thursday, as there will be no publication on Deepavali.
