MOTIVATIONAL speaker Muhamad Fadhil Husin, famed for his jailbirdlife story, has been involved in his second car crash in 10 days, reported Harian Metro.

The 29-year-old Singaporean, better known as Abang Long Fadhil, was in a car with his mother and another family member when it crashed along the North-South Expressway on Sunday.

On July 22, he was in another accident in Malacca, where his car collided with another near the Ayer Keroh toll plaza.

Sunday’s accident, near Simpang Renggam, occurred as the trio were travelling back to Singapore after a vacation in Malacca.

Kulai district police said the driver tried to avoid a pothole and lost control of the car. It veered to the left, hit a retaining wall and rolled over a few times.

“It landed in a drain on the side of the highway,” said a spokesman.

Muhamad Fadhil suffered a head injury while the mother hurt her leg.

> Children of an army veteran who died in 1979 were touched to be handed a medal that had been awarded to their father, Berita Harian reported.

The King George VI General Service Medal awarded to the late Kpl Tan Kassim for his service was up for auction on a Canadian website when the newspaper bought it and handed it to his children, whohad not known about it.

“We didn’t really believe it when Berita Harian contacted us because we had never heard about or seen this medal before.

“My late father also never spoke about it but now that it’s back in the family, at least the future generation will know that their forefather served the country,” said Rosli Tan, 52.

>The longest serving inmate at Pokok Sena Prison, who spent 39 years behind bars, is free after a royal pardon from Sultan of Kedah Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, KOSMO! reported.

Zakaria Man, 61, was given a life sentence at age 22 for armed robbery of a factory involving RM6,000.

“I have repented and this was my worldly punishment, I won’t turn back,” he said at his home in Kampung Padang Lalang, Alor Janggus, where his family welcomed him with open arms.

“With God’s will I have been given a royal pardon,” he said.

His freedom was even sweeter because his release date fell on the Sultan’s birthday, he added.
