Goodmix – football and nasi lemak

-

PETALING JAYA: Midfielder Mohd Badhri Radzi’s ‘nasi lemak’ business is as hot as the Kelantan football team.

Besides his hectic schedule as a professional footballer, the 30-year-old Badhri still finds time to run his nasi lemak stall – “Ajihs Nasi lemak 80 sen” with partner Ramadhan Rosli in Kota Baru.

“This iswhat I dowhen I amfree and not playing the game. It began as a parttime investment but business has boomed since we opened a couple of years ago,” said Badhri from Kota Baru.

On Saturday, Badhri lifted his jersey to reveal a t-shirt with the words “Ajihs Nasi Lemak 80 sen” after scoring a late free kick goal in the returnleg of the Malaysia Cup semi-final against Selangor at the Shah Alam Stadium.

The t-shirt is a hit among locals and has been put on sale at various stalls in Kota Baru.

“It is something I wanted to do for fun. When I scored I did what other professional players do to display their babies’ names and other things,” said Badhri, who will travel to Shah Alam with the team for the all-important Malaysia Cup final against Premier League champions Armed Forces tomorrow.

“My team-mates also frequent my stall at night. We chit chat and most of the time the topic is about football. I make a lot of new friends and I serve them personally.

“We came up with the t-shirt idea ourselves.”

Kelantan are gunning for a dream treble, having won the Super League and FA Cup titles this year.
