Top climber in Asian rankings
MANAGEMENT and Science University (MSU) in Shah Alam has climbed 92 spots to rank 179th on the QS Asia Rankings 2020, making it Malaysia’s top climber.
This reaffirms its position among Asia’s best universities. It was earlier ranked number 271 in the 2019 rankings.
MSU has achieved high scores for its international faculty, international students, outbound and inbound exchange.
This private university also does well in citations per paper and employer reputation. It was also judged on academic reputation, international research network, faculty-to-student ratio, papers per faculty and faculty staff with Phds.
MSU was first rated in 2016 when it received QS 5 Stars in teaching, facilities, graduate employability, social responsibility, and inclusiveness.
It then made its entry into the QS World Universities Ranking in 2019, placing 541-550.
Meanwhile, the QS Employability Rankings 2020 placed MSU at the Top 301+ for both Alumni Outcome and Employer Reputation, as well as the Top 201+ for Partnerships with Employers.
MSU also ranks 183rd for Graduate Employment Rate, and 144th for Employer-student Connection.
Regionally, MSU is among Asia’s Top 10 for Graduate Employability, Employer Reputation, and Alumni Outcomes; as well as Asia’s Top 5 for Employer-student Connection.
It also has the distinction of being in the Top 100 in the QS 50 Under 50 rankings for institutions less than half a century old. (MSU was established in 2001).
The QS Higher Education System Strength Rankings sees Malaysia as the second Southeast Asia country making the list in 2018.
In the QS World University Rankings 2020, Malaysian universities were ranked higher than 25,000 other universities worldwide.
Over the past three decades, MSU has grown to become one of Malaysia’s top universities. Its award-winning study programmes meet stringent standards set by both local and international bodies.
MSU has also been named ‘Excellent Status University’ and ‘The Most Entrepreneurial Private University’, both by the Malaysian Ministry of Education.
The most recent recognitions include the Platinum Standard of 5 Crowns Global, Innovation and Excellence in Higher Education as well as Outstanding Student Support from the UK’S Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC).
Besides internationalisation, the MSU mission for excellence in human capital development takes into account industry employability, entrepreneurship and community sustainability, all to be supported by research, lifelong learning and flexible education.
MSU is an applied enterprise university focused on graduate employability. Figures show 98.7% of its graduates secure jobs within six months of their graduation.
This has led to its ranking as Malaysia’s No.1 for graduate employability by the Ministry of Education.
In the recent Gradmalaysia Award, MSU also won the ‘Most Popular Graduate Employer’ category in the education sector and made the Top 100 Leading Graduate Employers list.
