Enchanting Austrian Christmas Market
THERE are a few things that Malaysians look forward to when it comes to year end and one of it is the Christmas décor offered by the shopping malls.
Supported by the Austrian Embassy, Sunway Putra Mall takes its visitors to the highland of Mount Advent in Salzburg, Austria to get a taste of the Grossarl Market as their Christmas theme.
From now until Dec 26, visitors will be able to experience the festive jolliness with a twist of The Great Christmas Market at the mall’s Main Concourse. There will also be a host of festive attractions.
This year, the mall’s interior is decked with traditional Austrian architecture and lively market setting adorned with festive décor that is inspired by the famous market on the hill in Austria.
As visitors enters the mall’s concourse, it will fill you with warmth as you look out to the city’s snow-covered roofs and mountains.
The festive season is set to be even more photogenic as there is a Kaleidoscope Room; a psychedelic interactive room that will enliven your senses and a Ski Photo Booth Station as if one is skiing down the mountain which adds an extraordinary experience at the concourse.
On top of the unique ambience, visitors will be serenaded with the famous Silent Night that originated from Austria. The Music Box with a miniature Austrian Town is located at the concourse.
Soak in the joyous mood and holiday spirit where shoppers can indulge in a wide selection of artisan crafts, home decorations and sweet delicacies at the Christmas Market located at Ground Floor.
Look out for the Winter Playground, where shoppers can let their children play after they shop in the mall for their festive gifts. Your little ones will have a wonderful time playing.
All parents have to do is register their kids as a Putra Junior Club
and Autsome member; the mall’s programme for children aged 12 and below and they get to enter for free.
Every weekend, the mall’s ever-popular snow shows are back to give you the feel of a white Christmas without any of the winter chill. Even the grouchiest of faces will not be able to resist a smile under the twinkling lights and snow flurries.
Meanwhile, kids can also take part in the Kid’s Workshops where they get to hone their arts and crafts skills.
Look out for crafty session such as Snow Storm in a Jar, Fizzy Snowflakes, Winter Slime and more. Do not miss out on meeting up with Santa every Sunday and on Christmas eve as he will be in town to see who’s been naughty or nice.
The festive fun amps up even more as the Christmas Carollers serenade shoppers with holiday tunes performance on Dec 25.
