SUNDAY: Dr Peggy C. Wong started Living Hope in 2007 as a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to raise awareness and resources for poor and needy children. This annual bazaar aims to raise funds that will go towards the feeding, clothing and education programmes for underprivileged children. There will be a lot of fun activities and performances at the bazaar, including a children’s catwalk, Latin dance, flamenco guitar performance, rope-climbing, games and plenty of food for sale. Coupon booklets are available at the bazaar. Time: 11am-7pm.

SUNDAY: A recipient of the 12th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards 2015 for “Best Group Original Performance – Instrumental”, the High Winds Ensemble has played a crucial role in raising the standard of music-making in this country. From Jogyakarta to Guangxi, the ensemble has captured the imagination of listeners around the region. After a two-year hiatus, the ensemble returns to present a concert of French music for wind instruments, to raise funds in an initiative to present free educational concerts in schools in the Klang Valley and across the country. Collaborating with Ensemble Virama, the High Winds will feature Maurice Ravel’s rhapsodic Tzigane, Jean Francaix’s parody on a theme from Mozart’s Don Giovanni, and Poulenc’s incredibly moving Sextet. UNTIL SEPTEMBER 17: This exhibition – held in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the National Visual Arts Gallery – is curated by Wei-Ling Gallery and presented by UOB Malaysia. It features 14 prominent Malaysian artists who explore the symbolic power of the flag as a means to reflect on and extend the rich and complex story of the Jalur Gemilang as a potent symbol and a marker of identity, unity, belief and division.
