Capturing the spirit of unity

-

IN its effort to promote unity and diversity, Celcom has released its own version of the song Hebat Negaraku, led by Jaclyn Victor and Man Bai.

This music video, which is available on Celcom’s Facebook and YouTube, is the latest video to arrive in its series of Unity Campaign that was launched in August last year.

The three-and-a-half minute video showcases all the different faces of Malaysians, as well as distinct Malaysian musical instruments like sape, sitar, seruling and er hu – in short, a celebration of all things Malaysian.

In a press release, Celcom stated that the aim behind the music video is to remind us to be proud to be a Malaysian as well as embed the spirit of unity through tolerance and acceptance.

The statement reads: “It is our small tribute to all the colours, flavours, rhythms, places and faces that make Malaysia the strong nation it is today.

“And that quite naturally determined the character, tone and tempo of our execution. From cast to music composition to people and setting, our music video is quintessential Malaysia caught on camera.”

Grace Chan, head of brand marketing, Celcom Axiata Berhad, added: “We were excited at the opportunity to develop a music video featuring values that make Malaysia so special – our beautiful country, our culture of tolerance, respect amongst races and care for fellow Malaysians.

“I hope we can continue to perfect our appreciation for inclusiveness as we remind ourselves we are fortunate enough to live in Malaysia.

“As a brand, Celcom celebrates unity and embraces diversity.

“I’m very proud and blessed to be Malaysian, to live in a country that needs no introduction to racial harmony and friendships built on kindness and sincerity. I hope this is an inheritance we pass on to our younger generation.”

Celcom’s other recent campaigns to celebrate the uniqueness of Malaysia focused on Merdeka Day, Malaysia Day, Deepavali and Chinese New Year.
