Sports is so much fun
IT looks like our Starchild readers love the active life; so many of you send us your drawings on the topic: My Favourite Sport.
Eight-year-old Khim Zern loves swimare ming. “I love swimming. My lessons usually on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. I also recently won a medal in a swimming competition and my teacher and parents are proud of me.”
Six-year-old Anna Ruth Oh Hui Hann likes gymnastic as she can perform cartwheels, handstands and forward rolls. “Gymnastics has helped build my confidence, flexibility, strength and fine motor skills. The most important thing is the fun I have with my friends. Last year, my mother brought me to the 29th SEA Games. It was an eye-opening experience watching Malaysian gymnasts live in action.”
“I fell many times during my first few cycling lessons. Thankfully, my father was always by my side. I am still learning to use my new bicycle. I hope to become good at cycling one day,” writes Dayang Nur Salsabila, nine.
“My favourite sport is badminton. Playing badminton makes me so happy,” says Tan Li Ren, eight.
Alicia Fan, 11, is also a fan of badminton. “I like this sports because I can play with my
friends and family. This sport can be played indoors and outdoors. Every Sunday, my uncle and I will play badminton in the park.”
Nine-year old Ahmad Harith Tan enjoys basketball and football. “My brother and I play basketball in school. We usually play football in the field near our home.”
Teo Zi Ling, 10, finds badminton an interesting sport. “I love playing badminton with my father as he is a good player.
“Mum usually plays with my brother. We enjoy playing badminton together as a family.”
Nine-year-old Christopher Chong started wushu lessons this year. “There are many techniques in wushu such as kick attack, sword skills and hand attack skills.”
“My favourite sport is jogging. I usually go for a jog with my mother, brother and father. Sometimes, I see puppies along the street and they would walk alongside my mother and I,” says Chua Zi Xin, nine.
“Badminton is such a fun and exciting game for me. I own three badminton racquets and two shuttlecocks. Even my brother enjoys playing the game with me. I aspire to be a badminton player like Datuk Lee Chong Wei,” writes Tan Xian Jun, nine.
Lim Jing Yi, 11, enjoys badminton too. “I started playing badminton at the age of five and I usually play on Saturdays with my brothers. I am so happy to be able to play this sport.”
Ten-year-old Teo Jia Qi was encouraged to play basketball by her parents and teacher. “My teacher presented a basketball to my friends and me. It inspired us to learn how to play this game.”
“During physical exercise lessons, I would usually skip rope with my classmates,” writes Khor Shin Rei, seven.
Sevita Leilani Peters, 10, enjoys swimming. “Each time I go to the beach, I look forward to swimming in the sea. I have a vivid memory of myself swimming in the sea in New Zealand when I was a little girl.”
Younger sibling Zachary Nason Peters, seven, also likes swimming. “I love being in the water as it makes me happy. Everyone should learn how to swim because it is such a fun sport.”
“I love football as it is an interesting sport,” writes Nigel Gregory Fernandez,

Eight-year-old Aaron Aditya Surenthran, enjoys football too. “I love football because it is fun. My favourite player is Lionel Messi and I enjoy playing with my friends too.”
