“THE greatest reward for commitment is achievement,” quoted Smart Reader Worldwide group executive director Datin Sri Datuk Dr K.H. Wang as she stays true to her quote with another prestigious award presented to her to continue her tenure as the Malaysia Book of Records holder for the woman entrepreneur with the most number of awards – local and international with a total of 48 awards to date.

She was in the Malaysia Book of Records twice in 2011 and 2015, and till date, the record remains unbroken.

The most recent award conferred to Wang was the Women Icons 2018 award during the Women Icons Summit and Awards organised by the Business Excellence and Research Group.

Held on Jan 30 at Renaissance Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, the award honours the accomplishments and contributions of women who have excelled in various fields.

This acknowledgement is truly deserving for Wang, who is prominent in the Malaysian education industry and the nation, bringing out the charisma, ability and strength of all women in the fraternity.

Passionate about early childhood education, Wang is best known as the co-founder of Smart Reader Kids, which is the largest chain of child enrichment centres in Malaysia with over 300 centres nationwide, as well as 150 overseas.

The success story of the Smart Reader Kids brand can be attributed to its strong fraternity of successful franchisees who are predominantly women.

With the assistance and support of quality products and services from the franchisor, these entrepreneurs have excelled in building their franchises, winning national and international awards such as the Franchisee of the Year by Malaysian Franchise Association and Honorary Stevie Award for Women in Business in New York, along the way.

The Smart Reader Creative Teaching Methodology, conceived by Wang, has played a major role in transforming the local early childhood education scene.

This innovative, simple and fun learning approach advocates on nurturing students to learn easily and readily with interest and excitement, and ultimately inspiring them to pursue learning as part of life.

To date, more than a million students have testified to the success of this teaching methodology.

It has been proven to be highly effective in gaining young learners’ support and capturing their eagerness to learn.

It goes without saying, Wang is an incredible role model for female figures to look up to.

Her best advice is to “dream big and never settle for anything less than what you desire”.
