KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) secretary-general Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom sidestepped commenting on the appointment of Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein in the federal cabinet, citing it as national politics.

Instead he was in support of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s decision on the matter, as long as it is for the good of the people.

Ismail Sabri was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister while Hishammuddin was appointed as Senior Minister leading the Security Cluster. The appointments were announced in a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday.

They were appointed to help the Prime Minister in managing the country’s administration and ensuring the people’s needs are taken care of during the health and economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Whatever is happening, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) must make sure we support the government that can stabilise this country, and the Malaysian government continues to be the most stable government in South East Asia,” Dr Rundi said when met after visiting the industry vaccination centre (PPVIN) at Mydin Vista Tunku in Petra Jaya yesterday.

A stable nation is the most important, and that is GPS’s main aim, added the Utilities Minister and Kemena assemblyman. He said that the most important thing is that GPS must remain united in respect of ensuring national stability.
