BESarawak completes first part TriBE: Innovation Masterclass training

-

SIBU: Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) has completed one of its two-part training last week called the TriBE: Innovation Masterclass.

It was a programme that covered topics like professional conference organiser (PCO), business model and entrepreneurship, bidding process and presentation and digital technology.

It is the brainchild of TriBE: Innovation, an educating arm of Business Events Sarawak that trains industry partners and incubates leaders for the industry.

TriBE: Innovation also serves as pre-event for the upcoming TriBE Assembly 2020 hosted by BESarawak.

The TriBE Assembly 2020 is endorsed by Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (Maceos). It carries continuous education unit (CEU) points — the highest points awarded by the Events Industry Council (EIC) for courses or programmes in Malaysia.

Sarawak’s first training development programme for business events has been awarded 44 points.

Participants who complete it from September until October can register for internationally recognised certification exams such as Certified Meeting Professional (CMP).

Head of Industry Relations, Dylan Redas Noel, said: “Being awarded with the highest CEU points in the country will push Sarawak to become a role model for sustainable growth and influence in the industry via wellcra ed education and training.”

Chief operating officer of BESarawak, Amelia Roziman said: “The Masterclass will fulfil BESarawak’s 5-year Masterplan in the state to become an international destination for meetings with a strong welleducated supplier base and an extensive network for local hosts.”

The Masterclass is subsidised by the Sarawak government for BESarawak Partners.

The commitment fee is RM500 per person.

The Sarawak government is keen to support industry players in enhancing skills through internationally recognised certifications. It is compulsory for participants to complete the programme to be eligible for the CMP exam.
