Sheda lauded for holding property roadshow

MIRI: Property roadshows help spur economic development and meet housing needs of every sector of the society, says mayor Adam Yii.

He said although there is a huge surplus in the commercial housing sector, the demand for residential units here is continuing to grow, albeit, at slower pace this year.

“Home ownership remains a major concern as seen by the initiative of the state government in providing affordable housing for the people with the likes of Spektra ( People’s Special Scheme), and so on.

“I appreciate that more property roadshows are being held here to spur the economic development. We acknowledge the active participation of Sarawak Housing and Real Housing Estate Developer Association (Sheda) in providing a platform for the people to choose their dream homes,” Yii said when launching the annual Sheda Miri Home and Property Road Show 2019 at Bintang Megamall here yesterday.

Chairperson of the roadshow, Simon Tiong Chee Chin, meanwhile reminded the public about Home Ownership Campaign ( HOC) which was implemented early this year.

“The campaign will end on Dec 31, and I encourage potential home buyers to take this opportunity to purchase their dream home and enjoy at least 10 per cent discount and great savings from the stamp duty waiver.”

Tiong said developers have created choices within this market and now it is up to the public to make the most of the given opportunity.
