Malcolm Mejin works on second novel
KUCHING: Kuching author Malcolm Mejin is currently working on his second novel in Diary of a Rich Kid series.
“Initially, I wasn’t sure if I’d be writing the second book for Diary of a Rich Kid,” Malcolm told The Borneo Post yesterday.
“But after good response to the first book, I’m now working on the second book. Diary of a Rich Kid is going to be a book series, with more new interesting characters added and more exciting plots.
Malcolm added that some new, futuristic technology will be introduced in the new novel.
“I’ve always been fascinated with technology,” Malcolm said. “I have visions of this sort of technology since I was a little boy. To be able to introduce this technology to readers is so much fun.”
Malcolm Malaysian applauded government the for being bold and innovative in the technological arena.
In the first novel, Malcolm introduced local food like Sarawak Laksa and Kolo Mee. Likewise, local elements and references will be in his second book.
“I will be adding more diversity, adventure, suspense, and romance! I definitely want to explore the romantic side of the characters; like puppy love, first kiss, first crush, and things like that.”
Malcolm will be making appearances at MPH Mid Valley and Popular IPC Shopping Centre during his book tour at Kuala Lumpur in April. Diary of a Rich Kid, is now available nationwide at MPH Bookstores and Popular Bookstores.
