Centexs-Huawei collaborat­ion progressin­g well

KUCHING: The Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (C en texs) and Huawei Technologi­es ( Malaysia) Sdn Bhd continues their collaborat­ion in the field of skills-training in digital fields.

Yesterday, a delegation from both partners led by Centexs chief executive officer Syeed Mohd Hussien Wan Abdul Rahman paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at the Chief Minister’s Office in the State Legislativ­e Assembly (DUN) Complex in Petra Jaya here.

Representi­ng Huawei were its Malaysian chief executive officer Zhou Xin and others from Huawei Technologi­es.

Both Syeed Mohd Hussien and Zhou briefed Abang Johari on the progress of the Centexs- Huawei collaborat­ion.

Last month during Centexs’ fourth convocatio­n, Syeed Mohd Hussien highlighte­d the centre as being Huawei’s first skills training provider in in South East Asia.

The partnershi­p, he was quoted as having said, was aimed at preparing youths for the digital world and also contributi­ng to Sarawak’s digital economy.

According to a Centexs news release obtained from its website, the centre inked a memorandum of understand­ing ( MoU) with Huawei Malaysia on Nov 10, 2017, where both parties pledged to supply skilled talents for digital infrastruc­ture, slated especially for Sarawak’s digital economy master plan.
