-

SIBU: Budget 2019 themed “Credible Malaysia, Dynamic Economy, Prosperous Rakyat” received a positive reaction from Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Service ( Cuepacs) Sarawak.

According to state Cuepacs ( CNS) president Ahmad Malie, the budget is proof that the government is always sensitive to and acknowledges the sacrifices and contributions of civil servants.

Among the points he highlighted was the special incentive of RM500 to all civil servants in Grade 54 and below, which will be paid by end of December this year.

“Also, government pensioners will be receiving a RM250 special payment. Henceforth, this is what KGBS meant by the government is always sensitive and appreciative of the contribution of civil servants in nation building – moving towards a developed nation by 2020.

“Therefore, CNS thankful to the government for tabling the budget which takes into account several issues that central Cuepacs had voiced,” he said yesterday.

Ahmad was asked to comment on Budget 2019 for civil servants.

He added that CNS is also thankful that the budget allocated RM400 million for the maintenance and repair of government quarters for civil servants especially police, armed forces and teachers.

He said CNS also appreciated the incentives provided by the government for owning a house for civil servants.

“CNS hopes that the budget tabled will be able to be enjoyed by civil servants fully. This is to ensure civil servants are always healthy and happy,” Ahmad said.
